Michel Italian Peninsula Stamp Catalog
This Hardcover Edition is 720 pages and covers the following areas:
Fiume, Italy, San Marino, Trieste (Zone A), Vatican City
- You will find editorial improvements throughout the entire edition. Regarding issues from Fiume, we have added a new overprint type to the postage stamps MiNo. 74 – Mi.No. 76 as well as to the postage-due stamps MiNo. 15 – MiNo. 16.
- Collectors should pay particular attention to the postage-paid stamp MiNo. 16 II, whose assessment is in the four-digit range. We also discovered a striking new type variation of the 1988 Italian soccer stamp: Due to the fact that the yellow ink is missing from the print, areas that were originally green are blue.
- Concerning issues from Fiumerland-Kupa, a new variant of the 1941 “Buccari” issue with a two-color instead of a monochrome overprint has been uncovered. And finally, we added previously missing certificates of validity to all stamps from San Marino and the Vatican that were withdrawn from circulation.
- Another focus was on the review and updating of all price quotations. We found both price increases and decreases among the high-priced Italian issues. For example, the “Maccari” stamp booklet from 2019 has seen its value increase tenfold. We also took a close look at the early decades of issues from San Marino and the Vatican and adjusted the price quotations accordingly.
- The Vatican stamp issued on the occasion of the 2023 World Youth Day has also stayed in great demand. Its value has risen again by several hundred euros.
- This edition features all novelties recorded in MICHEL Rundschau up to and including No. 4/2025.
