The first issue of Monaco’s 2024 Europa stamp is becoming a modern rarity. The inscription “Europa” was initially omitted from the stamp design. Approximately 3,000 copies found their way into collectors’ hands before sales were stopped and a corrected version was printed. It’s worth taking a look at the collection, as the withdrawn stamp is now worth 40 times its face value.
Collectors of French new stamps can look forward to 355 new main issues in their field. These are primarily high-quality intaglio stamps, which are particularly valued by philatelists. To simplify the handling of stamps with identical images, we added numerous cross-references to the earlier motifs. Issues with these reissued motifs can also increase in price. Using current research results, we were also able to supplement issue dates and circulation figures for the 1920s and 1930s in France. Difficult-to-distinguish “Marshal Pétain” stamps from 1942 received fresh explanatory texts.
Finally, we updated the motif descriptions for “Flora” postage-duty stamps from France and Andorra. This volume contains all new issues recorded up to and including issue 3/2025 of the MICHEL Rundschau.
