Description

Ancient coins rarely come in perfect circles, and the SAFE Nova Deluxe XL for Ancient Coins is configured with that in mind. This set pairs the Nova Deluxe XL Leather Presentation Case with three velvet trays in graduated sizes, giving you 146 square compartments for a Roman, Greek, or Byzantine collection. Square compartments give irregular, off-round flans more room than round ones.

The trays step up in size to match how most ancient collections grow. The 63-compartment tray fits coins up to 19.1mm, suited to denarii and smaller silver. The 48-compartment tray takes coins up to 22.5mm, including antoniniani and many provincial bronzes. The 35-compartment tray holds coins up to 27mm for larger silver and bronze issues.

The case is black leather, hand-stitched by German bookbinders, with a padded exterior and a felt-lined base that won't scratch the surface beneath it. Hidden magnets hold the hinged lid closed. Inside, three leather-wrapped tray holders stack neatly, so you can lift out a single tray to study or share without disturbing the rest.
