While standard capsules simply limit a coin's exposure to air and moisture, QUADRUM Intercept™ goes further — the black interior lining is treated with patented Intercept Technology™, a copper-based material that actively neutralizes sulfur compounds, chlorine, and other harmful atmospheric gases inside the capsule, creating a stable, non-corrosive micro-climate around your coin.
This isn't hobbyist-grade marketing — Intercept Technology™ has a proven 30-year track record across industries including aerospace, defense, automotive, electronics, and mining, and is used by institutions including the US National Archives and the British Royal Mint. Each capsule is rated for up to 15 years of active tarnish protection under normal conditions — significantly longer in favorable storage environments.
The outer shell is made from durable, crystal-clear, scratch-resistant plastic with a secure yet easy-to-open closure. The black interior insert provides a rich, high-contrast backdrop that makes your coin's details pop visually, though it does mean the capsule is opaque on the interior sides — you'll see the face and reverse clearly, but not the coin's edge. Available in inner diameters from 17mm to 41mm to accommodate virtually any coin in your collection. Sold in packs of 6.
