Description
Two stamps can look identical and still be worth very different amounts, and the difference often comes down to perforation. The SAFE PERFOmeter makes that measurement quick and reliable. This wheel-style gauge carries 28 perforation scales around a 7-inch dial. You simply turn the wheel until a scale lines up with the stamp's perforations, then read the measurement.
Because the wheel is laid against the stamp's edge rather than the stamp being placed onto the gauge, it works just as well on stamps still attached to covers and postcards as it does on loose singles. There's no need to soak a stamp off an envelope or lift it from a card just to confirm a perforation variety.
The PERFOmeter covers the perforations collectors encounter most often, with quarter-step precision across the busy perf 10 to 15 range where many identification questions come up.
