Description
When a loupe shows you something worth a closer look, this pocket microscope lets you confirm it. The zoom adjusts continuously from 60x to 100x, with marked settings at 60x, 80x, and 100x. That's enough power to see the dot pattern in printed ink, the fibers in stamp paper, the detail of a mint mark or doubled die, or the crystal structure in a mineral specimen.
The achromatic lens corrects the color fringing common in inexpensive microscopes, so edges stay crisp and colors stay true. The light swivels, so you can angle it across the surface. Low, raking light brings out texture that straight-on light flattens, such as the raised lines of engraved printing, the relief on a coin, or a repaired tear in paper.
To use it, set the item on a flat surface, place the microscope over it, and turn the fine-focus wheel until the image is sharp. The on/off switch sits on the side. At about 5-7/8" long, it fits easily in a pocket or show kit.
